The Symphony of Life

Hubby and I have always enjoyed classical music, particularly symphonies. For many years we subscribed to Orchestral Concerts.

It is lovely listening to music at home, but no matter how good one's entertainment system might be, there is just nothing like being there and watching an orchestra perform live!

It is amazing to think of 100 or so well-trained musicians playing together to make a beautiful harmonious sound. One slip up, not following the conductor, and it would be a cacophony.

I find that life is a bit like that, Sometimes all the bits and pieces of life work together in a beautiful harmony and everything in the world is rosy. Only problem is that more often than not, the cacophonies are in the supremacy.

The last few months have been a bit discordant for me. It's been hard to find a lovely melody in everyday living. Apart from the drying up of most of my outlets for creativity (through magazines closing down and Craftsy not hosting my full pattern store) there have been some heart-breaking personal issues.

That's OK, it's just part of the joys and sorrows of human life, and I know I need to keep my eye on the conductor of my life, Jesus. As I allow Him to be in charge, there will eventually be some lovely harmony, even if the circumstances don't change.

I thought I should share again my Life is a Symphony Quilt. It's definitely one of my favourites and is such a reminder to me that joy and contentment can be found even in the darkest days, as long as we keep our eye on the right conductor!

And what a part friends and family play! Where would we be without them!

I've taken the next step in seeking to replace my Craftsy Store, so I now have a small selection of patterns in my new Etsy Shop. If you would like to go and add me as one of your favourites, you can find me here.

Meanwhile, God keeps sending me surprises with lovely people finding my patterns on my website and liking them enough to purchase them!  ... And if you like my Life is a Symphony Quilt, click the photo below to be taken to my wall quilt page!

The weather here has really been HOT and though we have air-conditioning, it doesn't find its way into my sewing room. It's pleasant in the morning, but the afternoon sun is just too much for the blind, curtains and fan to make much difference, so there hasn't been a lot of sewing done. I have done a bit of stitching in the evening so will show you the results another time.

Yesterday we celebrated Australia Day by attending an Australia Day breakfast at our church - sausage, bacon, eggs and fruit - not our usual first meal of the day, but great to be with people we love, celebrating such a wonderful country.

May you be blessed too!
Val

This little quilt looks great, I like it very much. All the instruments worked and put together so beautifully.
Like a sinfonie. Greetings, Martina

Love your little quilt. The words are so appropriate. Hope 2019 will be a good year for you. So hot and wet here so I have been doing mainly stitching too.

I enjoyed visiting your new Etsy shop and saw some pretty inspiring projects to consider! I really need to set myself up with a substantial hand project, so now I just have to decide-which one? Wishing you much success in muddling through life’s issues. Sometimes it’s just not so easy to simply 'coast along'.
