I have finished the remake of my Thoughts in Thread quilt!
That's another lockdown achievment so I am very happy to have reached one more
goal for this pandemic time!
This
is another one of my designs based on a verse in the Bible: Philippians
Chapter 4, verse 8 — Summing it all up: Whatever is true, whatever is
noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is
admirable—the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly—fill your minds
with these thoughts.
Of
course, there is plenty of lovely appliqué.
and
lots of embroidery.
I
feel as though using this different fabric has done justice to the design at
last.
You
can find the pattern here.
It's
the second Sunday in May, Mothers' Day here in Australia, so happy Mothers' Day
to all the lovely Mums out there. It is also time to show you Block 5 in the
More Precious than Jewels BOM Quilt.
Do
you find yourself some times doing the dishes when everyone else is asleep at
night? Well you are in good company! Our ‘good woman’ of the Bible works far
into the night.
I
like to think she would have been looking through the supermarket catalogues to
find the bargains. Maybe she bought a bucket of apples on special and is busy
peeling, juicing, making Apple Crumble, sauce and jelly!
I
have sent all the participants their copy of the Block 5 pattern. I hope you
enjoy working all the little details as much as I did.
It's
not too late to join in this Block of the Month Quilt, and you can read all
about it and join the programme here.
I am
slowly working through my big long list of things I hope to achieve during the
pandemic. Things are starting to open up a bit more where I live, so I am a bit
concerned I'm not going to even get half way through my list before life is
back to some sort of normality!!!
Happy
stitching!
Val
