My sad news

I just want to let you know that the love of my life, my husbnd Ray, passed into the presence of Jesus on 30th April.

He was an amazing man who spent his life totally for Jesus, lived life to the full, and impacted hundreds of people through the Christian ministry in which he served all his life. Even the Australian Government recognised his sacrificial service and he was awarded the Order of Australia Medal in 2011.

We had a wonderful service celebrating his life with many of our large family taking part. Tributes have flowed in from far and wide and I put many of them in the back of the Program here: https://bit.ly/RayCelebrationService.

Some of you might be interested to watch the Celebration Service: bit.ly/RayLairdCelebration.  I’m sorry it is quite long – my large family had a lot to say and do! If you want to skip to some of the features, you can find the Eulogy at 9.40, the family tributes at 27.03 and his life story in Photos at 1:19.57.

For me, there are many big adjustments to make and many legal requirements to meet, and eventually I will get back to stitching again and hopefully back to sharing stories and photos on the blog.

God bless you.
Val

I’m so sorry. He sounds like a wonderful man and I’m sure Jesus welcomed him with open arms. My husband has a brain tumor and was just placed on hospice care. Such a sad time. Hugs to you!

Oh Val! My heart breaks for you. Having lost my Dad only six months ago, I can begin to understand your heartbreak and sadness. From your blog posts, I know you were dedicated to regularly visiting him, and I hope you were with him when Jesus welcomed him. I am sure you have loving family around you now, but are still overwhelmed with the legalities of his passing. I will add my prayers to those of others for your comfort, and peace through these next months. My deepest sympathies.
