A toiletry bag, a needle book and Block 2 of the BOM

Daughter Number two put in her order for a new bag, but I wasn't sure how the dimensions were going to work. What was there to do but to make a bag to those measurements to try it out!

I made this one into a toiletry bag as they are always useful to have in the cupboard.

Daughter wants embroidery on hers, but for this one I used the Suffolk Puffs for decoration. Now to make the real one with some refinements!

I completed the embroidery on this felt some time before Christmas.

It had sat there just waiting to be bound and made into a needle book. I really find great pleasure in working with Perle threads on felt.

I have put this finished needle book in my Etsy Store here.

It's already the second Sunday of the month, so it is time to release Block 2 of the 'More Precious than Jewels' Block of the Month Wall Quilt design. Thank you to those who have joined the programme and I hope you have enjoyed the process of making the first Block. You should have received your Block 2 by email by now, so let me know if there are any problems.

This month's block comes from Proverbs 31:13. Isn't it wonderful that our creative God loves us to use our creative gifts?

This woman in the Bible is praised for working with her eager hands.

The challenge is about being careful about the fabric and yarn we select and purchase. It’s so easy to buy on the spur of the moment without thinking through whether we can make good use of our purchase. Sometimes I look in my stash drawers and say, “What was I thinking when I purchased that particular fabric?”

The year-long Block of the Month wall quilt programme is able to be joined at any time, so if you missed Block 1, go here to learn how to join or how to purchase just Block 2.

We have had "showers of blessing" here, in the form of real rain from heaven, after many prayers for
our dry country of  Australia. I pray you will also receive showers of blessing in your own life.

Happy stitching,
Val
